White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2017
in the Wake Forest PA Program’s Class of 2017 received their white coats during
a ceremony held on June 29th in Wait Chapel on the university’s Reynolda Campus.
Led by PA Studies vice chair L. Gail Curtis, PA-C, MPAS, the 88 students recited
the PA Honor Oath, by which they commit themselves to maintaining the highest
standards of honor and professional conduct during their training and
afterward. The students then received their white coats from members of the PA
Class of 2016. Family members and friends joined the PA program faculty and
staff to celebrate this important rite of passage, which included a welcome
from program director Zachary Hartsell, MPAS, PA-C; a keynote address from
medical director K. Patrick Ober, MD; and concluding remarks from director of
preclinical education Erich Grant, MMS, PA-C. A reception on Hearn Plaza
outside Wait Chapel immediately followed the ceremony.
