Featured Faculty Member
Dr. Gretchen Brenes joined the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at Wake Forest School of Medicine in 2000. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and the Division of Public Health Sciences Department of Social Sciences and Health Policy.
She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a specialty in aging and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in gerontology and public health at WFSMShe has published extensively on the treatment of late-life anxiety and the effects of anxiety on physical functioning and health. She is currently the Principal Investigator of an NIMH funded study examining the effectiveness of telephone-delivered psychotherapy for the treatment of late-life Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Dr. Brenes "enjoys the opportunity to apply state of the art research findings to my clinical practice."
