- 14 weeks – 40 hours per week
- Daily schedules
- Complete patient evaluations, develop treatment goals
- Document daily group participation and weekly progress notes
- Active participation in Treatment Team Meetings
- Weekly Productivity sheets
- Weekly written reports summarizing articles that are unit specific – (6-7 total)
- 2 special projects – 1 patient related per unit and 1 department specific
- Bi-weekly meetings with Recreation Therapy Internship Supervisor
- Active participation in weekly outings
- Assume leadership role as primary therapist in planning and leading groups
- Monthly Reports of Productivity
- 1 Case Study
- Required Oral Presentation
- Observations with other Recreation Therapy Units and Psychiatry Unit Team Members
- 2 video taped assessments
- CPR certification required and maintained throughout internship
- Required Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification – obtained during internship
- Meet university requirements
- Mid-term evaluation
- Final evaluation
- Complete internship evaluation
