Vascular Center: About Us
We don't practice one-size-fits-all care at the Wake Forest Baptist Health Vascular Center. We designed our full-service practice to always put patients first.
Patient-centered Care
We strive to deliver patients the highest quality of care and best patient experience:
- We treat patients as individuals and discuss their care at weekly team meetings to draw from the full range of faculty expertise. Each patient has a personalized treatment plan that may or may not involve surgery.
- We respect your time. With an advanced vascular lab on-site, it's possible to see your doctor and get an ultrasound on the same day.
- We don't believe that our job ends when the patient leaves the operating room. We understand that complex diseases require lifestyle changes, follow-up treatments and ongoing care. We have a full team of vascular specialists on staff to manage your case after surgery, including a physician who specializes in vascular medicine.
Unmatched Expertise in Vascular Surgery
We perform some of the most complex and cutting-edge treatments, many of which are only available at a small number of medical centers nationwide. That includes the fenestrated endograft, the newest treatment option for abdominal aortic aneurysms. The FDA just approved the procedure in April 2012, and our surgeons are among only a handful nationwide who are trained and ready to perform it today.
We are the referral center for comprehensive management of vascular conditions of the abdominal aorta, kidneys (renal), legs, carotid artery and veins.
Since we are an academic medical center, many of our skilled surgeons are nationally-renown experts and recognized leaders in the field. Our team regularly participates in research and clinical trials, working to develop new treatments to lead the field into the future. See what they are working on right now.
