The Center for Voice and Swallowing Disorders provides medical services for people with voice problems and other disorders of the larynx (voice box). Specialized clinical services are available for people with vocal misuse and overuse syndromes, recurrent laryngitis, spasmodic dysphonia, vocal cord paralysis, the aging voice, cancer of the vocal cord, scarred vocal cords, and benign vocal cord growths, such as nodules, cysts, granulomas, webs, papillomas, and polyps.
The Voice Center is devoted to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of voice disorders. The research and clinical activities of the Voice Center are multidisciplinary, and involve laryngology, speech pathology, neurology, gastroenterology, and vocal pedagogy.
