In-Office Laser Procedures

The latest technology in flexible laryngoscopes has allowed us to have unprecedented illumination and exposure of the larynx (voice box). One type of laryngoscope has a small channel down its entire length which allows us to pass tiny instruments into the larynx comfortably. We use a small laser fiber to deliver Pulsed-Dye Laser (PDL) energy to various laryngeal pathologies.  These include recurrent respiratory papilloma, leukoplakia (pre-cancer), granuloma, Reinke's edema (smoker's polyps), and vallecular and saccular cysts (just to name a few).  These procedures are performed during regular office hours using local anesthesia only.  You will be able drive yourself home, but we might place you on voice rest!
