Product Innovation & Commercialization Services stimulates and invests in the creation of novel technology, products and services and licenses these to existing and startup companies. Innovation and Commercialization Teams educate faculty and the community in the "business of science" at all stages of the development pipeline.
The Innovation Team helps clinicians, researchers and other healthcare professionals identify technologies and product concepts with early commercial potential and provides guidance about:
- Business case and financial planning
- Intellectual property protection
- Prototyping
- Conducting proof-of-concept studies
- Regulatory practices
The Commercialization Team brings medical and scientific products and technologies to market through licensing. The group has expertise in:
Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center’s Office of Technology Asset Management and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiative have been folded into Product Innovation & Commercialization Services.
