Bariatric Nutrition Services
The WFBH Bariatric Surgery Program requires a nutrition assessment be conducted on all potential candidates for Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery (RYGB), Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) and Adjustable Gastric Band (AGB). All insurance companies require this assessment as part of the pre approval process. Amber Kelly, RD, is the Bariatric Surgery Coordinator and Dietitian that provides this service along with Kerry Patrone, RD, and Katelyn Hedrick, RD.
Once you have been approved for surgery, you will be seen for a nutrition education class prior to surgery to discuss your post-operative nutrition needs.
It is the goal of the Bariatric Surgery Team to see that you are healthy and successful with this life changing surgery. This initial nutrition class and follow up appointments will be scheduled once you have an appointment with the bariatric surgeon. If you have additional questions, please contact us at 336-716-6099.
