If you have undergone Weight Loss Surgery, joining a support group can make a big difference in your recovery and weight loss success. Patients can discuss their personal and professional issues and find strength and comfort from their peers.
Specially tailored meetings are offered based on your journey:
First 12-months Following Weight Loss Surgery
The Wake Forest Weight Management Center in Winston-Salem, NC holds monthly support group meetings for weight loss surgery patients on the third or fourth Thursday of the month:
The Weight Management Center holds monthly support group meetings for our surgery patients on the third or fourth Thursday of the month:
- General meeting from 6 to 7 pm
- Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy group meets from 7 to 7:30 pm

Weight Loss Surgery support meetings take place in the Fellowship Building of Temple Emanuel at 201 Oakwood Drive, Winston-Salem, NC.
Directions:
From Westbound on Business 40: Take exit 3 B and exit to the right. At the stop sign, turn right on Stratford Road and go to the stoplight. (Thruway Shopping Center and McDonald's will be on the right).
Turn left onto Oakwood Drive and go approximately .2 mile. Temple Emanuel is on the left, at the intersection of Cloverdale and Oakwood. The Support Group will meet in the large white building on the left.

12-months Post Op
This monthly support group meeting is designed to address issues that patients more than 12 months out from bariatric surgery might encounter. Each group will focus on a specific topic such as exercise demonstration, how to avoid weight regain, and the impact of weight loss surgery on your relationships. Please join us on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
