The Nurse as an Instrument of Healing

 The Essence of Presence

April 11th

Asheville, North Carolina

The holistic nurse is an instrument of healing and communicates authentically to facilitate another person's healing and growth through presence - "being with" as well as "doing to".  Since Florence Nightingale introduced the philosophy of holism, nurses inherently focus on interrelationships of human beings, events, and the environment.  This conference will examine the essence of presence and its influence on healing outcomes.  Emphasis will be placed on practical skills nurses may use on an ongoing basis for their patients and themselves.  Speakers include Janet Quinn, Lourdes Lorenz, Gregory Lathrop, and Andi Williams.  For information, visit www.mahec.net or view conference brochure.
