Cultivating
Self-Compassion and Joy in Mindfulness
|
|

The Power of Meditation
March 25 thru
27
Duke Center
for Integrative Medicine
Meditation teaches
us how to more skillfully work with ourselves. Compassion and joy are
inner states we can turn toward, cultivate and rest in. In the
busyness and fast pace of our lives, we often overlook moments and opportunities
of self-compassion and joy that naturally exist in us all. Download the Cultivating Self-Compassion and Joy

The
Nurse as an Instrument of Healing
|
|
The Essence of Presence
April 11th
Asheville, North
Carolina
The holistic
nurse is an instrument of healing and communicates authentically to
facilitate another person's healing and growth through presence -
"being with" as well as "doing to". Since
Florence Nightingale introduced the philosophy of holism, nurses
inherently focus on interrelationships of human beings, events, and
the environment. This conference will examine the essence of
presence and its influence on healing outcomes. Emphasis will
be placed on practical skills nurses may use on an ongoing basis for
their patients and themselves. Speakers include Janet Quinn,
Lourdes Lorenz, Gregory Lathrop, and Andi Williams. For
information, visit www.mahec.net or
view conference brochure.
