Healing Touch Services at WFBH

http://i698.photobucket.com/albums/vv341/lazevedo/KK.jpgOn July 1, 2011, Wake Forest Baptist Health implemented a Healing Touch (HT) Consult Service.  This therapy is available to all in-patients.  The HT Consult Service is operated through the Nursing Department, and is under the supervision of Deborah Larrimore, RN, LMBT, CHTP/I.  In the first month of service, the HT Consult Service provided over 40 patient visits, with 2-6 new consults a day.

This service is available at no cost, operates 24/7, and is offered through specially trained nurses and others who have studied the curriculum and art of Healing Touch.

Unique in its design, and perhaps the first in the nation, the HT Consult Team is comprised of both WFBH employees as well as WFBH volunteers.  All members of the team have been highly trained in HT, with a minimum of 60 hours of education, with most having 85+ hours training.  Three WFBH staff are Certified HT Practitioners, with several others submitting for this international certification.

View the video which highlights the HT Consult Service.
