Question: What brought you to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center?

Answer: I have been here for the past seven years. I started with medical school training and was fortunate to join our Family Medicine residency program. I feel that Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is a health care system that’s on the rise and a cornerstone of medical research and health care excellence.

Q: What are your clinical specialties?

A: The joy of family medicine is my ability to have varied interests. I enjoy caring for all my patients, from newborns to geriatric adults. I have a specific interest in office-based procedures including minor skin surgery, cosmetic dermatology, joint injections, casting/splinting, women’s health procedures including long-term contraceptive options, and wound care. My training in family medicine has prepared me for chronic disease management and preventive medicine across all age groups.

Q: Why did you decide to become a primary care doctor?

A: I was exposed to the incredible field of family medicine as a child. I watched my father, a family physician, provide care for the citizens of my hometown. Family Medicine gives me the opportunity to have a wide range of interests and be an advocate for my patients in the care of their health. My job is to keep them healthy before problems arise and to be there for them when problems occur.

Q: What is your patient care philosophy?

A: I try to act as a guide and mentor for my patients in the management of their health. I believe in educating them about their problems, providing options, and helping them choose their treatment plan. I am a huge proponent of the patient-centered medical home in family medicine, which ensures comprehensive primary care for my patients and the best possible outcomes for their health.

Q: What do you enjoy most about working with patients?

A: I enjoy being a person that my patients can feel comfortable seeing for their problems. Together we can work through whatever they are experiencing and find resolution. Every person needs a special physician that they can rely upon.

Q: What type of volunteer and/or community activities are you involved in?

A: The majority of my free time is spent with my wonderful wife and son as we try to educate and teach him about the world around us. I also try to stay active by playing golf and community church softball and in local tennis leagues.

Family Medicine-Reynolda is an advocate for healthcare awareness in our community so we spend time at health fairs in our area and contribute our medical expertise to news outlets in our region.

Q: What fun facts should we know about you?

A: I am a person who truly believes that laughter is the best medicine. I try to incorporate laughter into my daily life as well as the lives of my patients.
