Job Description


The Assistant Vice President of Corporate Revenue Cycle is the clear number two within the Revenue Cycle organization and while reporting to the Associate Vice President (Chief Revenue Officer “CRO”), represents a critical partner in providing day-to-day operational leadership for revenue functions of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFUBMC). The Assistant Vice President CRC, in close partnership with the CRO works “in the business” and creates critical bandwidth for the CRO to evolve and commercialize WFBMC revenue cycle operations. The Assistant Vice President CRC is responsible for developing, implementing and executing integrated revenue cycle best practices that produce “world class” results in the areas of patient access, clinical documentation, charge production, billing, collections and customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field of study. MBA or CPA preferred; additional credentials in coding or process re-engineering (six sigma) highly desired.
  • Ten years of progressive management experience including at least five years of senior leadership experience in revenue cycle.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field of study. MBA or CPA preferred; additional credentials in coding or process re-engineering (six sigma) highly desired.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital and professional revenue cycle gained in one or more settings to include complex healthcare systems, major academic medical centers and/or consulting.
  • Proficient knowledge of revenue cycle information systems. Experience with EPIC PB and HB systems is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of process re-engineering principles such as Six Sigma and/or LEAN.
  • Extensive knowledge of coding operations highly desired.
  • Knowledge of JCAHO, Federal and State laws relating to third party reimbursement, collection laws, liens, judgments, HCFA 1500 and UB02 billing regulations.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding.
  • Certification through AAHAM, HFMA, MGMA is highly desirable.
