Job Description


The Department of Internal Medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Health invites nominations and CV's for The Section Chief on Endocrinology. The School of Medicine seeks an accomplished academic Endocrinologist who will serve as the academic, administrative and clinical leader for the section and reports to the Chair on Internal Medicine. He/she will have a substantial record of outstanding patient care and scholarly activity. Responsibilities will include the section's fiscal affairs and efficient resource utilization, faculty recruitment and development, strategic growth of quality clinical services and research. It is expected that the Section Chief will participate in clinical activities, but will also have an active investigation program in clinical, translational or basic research. The chief will be a strong supporter of the training activities and nurtures essential relationships with community faculty.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

MD/DO

ABIM board certification in Endocrinology.

Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to measure performance and identify goals, assemble and lead effective teams, and achieve and maintain successful implementation of programs.

Experience supporting senior faculty in their research, teaching, clinical and administrative endeavors.

Record of successfully recruiting, retaining and mentoring junior faculty, along with the ability to create an atmosphere of high morale resulting in significant faculty retention.

Experienced in creating open lines of communication across a broad spectrum of constituents (affiliations, service lines, departments, etc.)
