Epic Training Manager
Full-time regular, 40 hours/week
Job Summary: Create, design, develop, implement, and manage training programs for the functional use of EPIC EMR software systems. Facilitate communication with and evaluate data gathered from Revenue Cycle, Clinical departments, Pharmacy departments, and other departments to create training tools and programs. Develop and deliver training programs to staff and physicians.
Education / Experience: Bachelors Degree required with a minimum of:
1 year experience in course development and implementation role;
2 years managerial/leadership experience;
3 years experience in an IT Technical and/or Organizational Development/Project Management role.
Adult Education experience required.
Reports To: Director Enterprise Learning and Development
Licensure, Certification and / or Registration: Prior Epic certification a plus.
Master both the Epic application assigned and associated organization specific workflows
Independently create, design, develop, and implement computer system training materials and programs for respective application(s). Provide one-on-one training with end users as appropriate and requested.
Interface with specified departments to determine needs, create plans, develop and administer training solutions.
Act as a liaison for Information Services, end users and other facilities using similar programs. Troubleshoot production issues; communicate department needs to Information Services and suggest modifications/improvements for department functionality; conduct testing for system upgrades.
Develop and maintain training materials; build, test and maintain the training environment
Train other trainers within the organization; Create comprehensive training guides and documentation for end users of specific programs.
Maintain policy and procedure documentation
Coordinate training for software releases and updates
Serve as a point of contact for business unit leadership
Participate in the overall workflow design and system build for assigned application to gain the expertise necessary for success
Design and implement internal EPIC credentialing program.
Skills and Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver classroom training
Demonstrated ability to work equally well independently or within a team
Excellent interpersonal; organizational; customer service; oral/written communication skills
Prior clinical/operational experience desired, but not required
Achievement of Epic certification on assigned application (s) will be required upon hire
Classroom training environment.
Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, or as scheduled. Occasionally subject to long and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekend and holidays.
Light to moderate travel required. Must be willing to travel to Madison, WI, as needed. No exceptions.
