This is a temporary Audiologist position to provide a full range of differential diagnostic and therapeutic services to inpatients and outpatients of all ages who have peripheral hearing loss or central auditory disorder.

Education: AuD or MAster's Degree in Audiology

Experience: One-year clinical experience (two-years preferred).

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current license in Audiology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology issued by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association of accreditation by American Board of Audiology.

Skills & Qualifications: Able to possess a strong, clinical interest and maintain versatility, creativity and adaptability. Willingness to complete training for CAP testing.

Job Summary: Provides a full range of differential diagnostic and therapeutic services to inpatients and outpatients of all ages who have peripheral hearing loss or central auditory disorder.

Education/Experience: Master?s Degree in Audiology plus one-year clinical experience.

Reports To: Department Manager

Licensure, Certification and/or Registration: Current license in Audiology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (or temporary license Clinical Fellowship Year). Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology issued by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, or equivalent.

Essential Functions:

1. Performs comprehensive, professional evaluation of patients of all ages referred for differential diagnosis of peripheral hearing and auditory function.
2. Ensures that patients and/or their families are thoroughly counseled about any hearing or auditory impairment.
3. Plans and recommends management for persons with hearing loss or other auditory disorders.
4. Acts as audiology consultant to educational, medical, and other professional services.
5. Continuously seeks to improve patient care services and evaluates opportunities to develop new services.
6. Provides and participates in the inservice education and training of audiology interns, medical students/residents, parent groups, and allied medical personnel.
7. Ensures age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
