A post doctoral position is immediately available for an aggressive individual with a strong background in bioengineering with extensive knowledge of neurophysiology and neural regeneration, biochemistry, molecular biology or animal sciences.
Required skills include: immunoblotting, immunostaining, polymerase chain reaction, RT-PCR; Confocal microscopes and image analysis; handling and dissection of mice, rat and rabbit, assist in rabbit and rat surgeries with post-op care; isolating and maintaining primary muscle and neural cell; maintaining the cell culture stocks; tissue culture, transfection, lentiviral transduction, maintain tissue culture stocks; conducting tissue culture experiments; data analysis and manuscript preparation for publications.
The candidate is expected to take a prominent role in conducting research in studying diabetes-induced neural degeneration, and to use regenerative medicine approaches to repopulate neural damaged tissue. It is expected that ths project will lead to translational research approaches.
Requirements: Completed doctorate degree in a related scientific field.
