Medical Center Financial Services - Finance and Accounting Services

Full-time regular, 40 hours/week

Sr. Financial Analyst - General Ledger

This role assists the Associate Controller, Director of Clinical Finance and Director of Reimbursement in the completion of monthly management financial reporting, quarterly GAAP reporting and annual audits by reviewing income statement accounts, performing complex models used in expense recognition, and coordinating with various departments outside of the Controller's Office. The functions include benchmark and survey completion/ coordination, assisting in actual to budget variances and actual to run rate variances, serving on workgroups and committees for review and change and implementing process improvement initiatives.

Education/ Experience:BS in Accounting and 3 years experience in a relevant healthcare setting. Master's in Accounting or Business Administration with healthcare emphasis preferred. Healthcare audit experience preferred.

Reports to: Controller
Licensure, Certification and/ or Registration: CPA, CMA, CHFP preferred.

Essential functions:
1. Responsible for conducting and documenting complex financial analysis projects.

2. Compile and analyze financial information for the organization, including GAAP financials on quarterly and annual basis, monthly management financials and supplemental financial reports.

3. Liaise with clinical operational and other corporate service departments to insure accurate financial reporting, trend identification and understanding of policies and procedures.

4. Complete/ participate in the submission of benchmarks and surveys.

Skills and qualifications: Demonstrated expertise and experience in healthcare financial statement development and analysis. Strong core skills including strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical proficiency. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to function as part of a team in complex, fast-paced environment. Ability to conceptualize problem-solving in cases where data are unclear or conflicting. Command knowledge of US GAAP and research into GAAP application.
