Neurosonology

Dr. Tegeler directs the Neurosonology Unit, an ICAUL accredited laboratory which performs over 3,500 extra- and intra-cranial neurovascular ultrasound studies per year. 

The laboratory has 4 full-time sonographers and the most advanced ultrasound instrumentation, including Color Velocity Imaging-Quantification (volume flow rate measurement), transcranial color-flow imaging, transcranial Doppler, and Doppler embolus detection. 

This laboratory participates in numerous research and educational activities. It was the 1st in the United States to use transcranial Doppler sonography.
