Developing Your Gifts in Ministry

image001_1206492950_webResidencies: 10 one-year residency positions in CPE are filled each year. A residency consists of 3 units of CPE while serving as a chaplain in the Medical Center, with a full curriculum under the supervision of a faculty of 5 CPE supervisors. The residency positions pay a stipend, and include health care and other excellent benefits. The residency position begins at the end of August each year. Three-year residencies in Supervisory CPE are also offered.

Hospital-Based CPE Quarters: A 10-week program of hospital-based CPE is offered each summer and at least one time during the year. Summer programs typically run from early June to early August, a good time for seminarians and others to do a unit of CPE. These non-stipended quarters are full-time for the 10 to 11 weeks they run.

Congregation and Hospital-Based CPE: CPE is also offered for ministers in local congregations. These units focus on the minister's work in the local congregation, while providing a peer group, supervision, and didactic instruction for professional development. Ministers may also choose to fulfill clinical hours in the hospital. For more information, contact
