Comprehensive Cancer Center Expansion
The six-story addition to our Comprehensive Cancer Center, opening in mid-December, brings both inpatient and outpatient services into a single location.
The $125 million expansion adds one day hospital and four inpatient floors to our outpatient cancer center, making it the largest dedicated cancer hospital in the state.
It increases the number of inpatient beds to 148 acute care and 44 observation beds. All rooms are private, make use of natural light and are designed to accommodate families. The cancer hospital includes a total of 530,600 square feet and features a courtyard nestled in the center of the upper floors – offering patients and families a peaceful environment to spend time together.
“As a dedicated comprehensive cancer hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services in a single facility improves patient access, convenience and satisfaction,” said John McConnell, MD, chief executive officer. “Our mission is to care and to cure. When it comes to cancer treatment, this expansion enables the medical center to take an outstanding program and put it under one roof which will only enhance the overall patient experience.”
