Psychological effects of disease
Greg Russell, MS, helps oversee the Design and Analysis Unit, a joint venture between the Department of Biostatistical Sciences and the Office of Research. Mr. Russell is a biostatistician, with expertise in survival analyses and health-related quality of life modeling. His primary focus of interest is the psychological effects of disease; additionally, he works extensively with survival data in modeling risk factors for recurrence and overall survival of cancer patients. In his time outside the Cancer Center, in addition to his work in the Design and Analysis Unit, he is working with the Department of Nephrology on a number of hemo- and peritoneal dialysis projects the University of Minnesota on a diabetic nephropathy project, and the Department of Pediatrics on a neonatology project. Previously, Mr. Russell has been the biostatistician on a large number of projects, including looking at the survivorship of cancer patients after invasive surgery and chemotherapy, as well as looking at the differences in stroke rates within the continental United States and the potential causes for differences in such rates, and prognostic factors in node-negative breast cancer patients.
