Julie G. Allickson, PhD, Director, Translational Research
Dr. Allickson focuses on the translation of adult and fetal stem cells. Prior to joining the institute, she was an Executive Officer of the company and Vice President of Laboratory Operations and R & D at Cryo-Cell International, Inc., an AABB accredited, and Florida- based Family Cord Blood Bank.

Jo Barlow, Research Administrative Coordinator 
Ms. Barlow is responsible for coordinating a variety of administrative research activities for WFIRM faculty, including pre-award efforts, proposal submission, and post-award management to assure that research projects comply with institutional and sponsor requirements.  She joined WFIRM in June 2008 after an extensive career with a major financial institution.

Cassie Barnes, Project Coordinator                                                                Ms. Barnes is responsible for assisting in the management of AFIRM II. She has previous experience in project coordination and management with various companies in North Carolina. She recently graduated from UNC Wilmington with a BS in Business Administration. 

Terri Bowen, Administrative Manager
Ms. Bowen came to the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in August of 2005 from the airline industry, bringing over 22 years of diverse administrative experience. In her role as Administrative Manager, she is responsible for the administrative support functions of the department, which covers over 270 faculty and staff and she directs the activities of the administrative staff. 

Kathryn Drinkuth, Web Content Administrator 
Ms. Drinkuth is responsible for maintaining the WFIRM website and social media accounts. She also assists with media relations. She obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and is currently working towards earning her MA in Strategic Communication from High Point University.

Thomas Eaton, MS, Lab Operations Manager
Mr. Eaton is responsible for laboratory operations and equipment. Prior to joining WFIRM, he was a Lecturer at UNC –Wilmington and spent 25 years in operations management for two Fortune 500 companies and his own print communications operation. He has been at WFIRM for five years.

Renee Foley, Research Administrative Coordinator 
Ms. Foley is responsible for coordinating a variety of administrative research activities for WFIRM faculty, including pre-award efforts, proposal submission, and post-award management to assure that research projects comply with institutional and sponsor requirements.  She joined WFIRM in February 2011 bringing over 10 years of experience with Wake Forest Health Sciences.

Lisa Hinshaw, Project Manager I 
Ms. Hinshaw is responsible for the organization and management of clinical trials at the Regenerative Medicine Clinical Center (RMCC). Lisa holds a Masters in Public Health from UNC Greensboro. Previously she worked in Diagnostic Radiology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for 10 years as the study coordinator for the National Lung Screening Trial and various other clinical trials.

Joanne Gray, Administrative Secretary 
Ms. Gray joined WFIRM in 2009 and brings over 25 years of experience in diverse environments (profit and non-profit organizations) throughout North Carolina.

Beth Manning, Administrative Secretary
Ms. Manning has recently joined the Center for Regenerative Medicine, bringing 15 years of experience with Wake Forest Health Sciences. She provides support for faculty and other administrative positions.

Linda Mason, Assistant Director, Sponsored Programs
Ms. Mason came to the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine in October of 2009 from the newspaper industry, with 23 years of managerial and administrative experience. She relocated to the Triad area from Long Island, NY 3 ½ years ago. She coordinates a variety of administrative research activities for assigned departments, including pre-award efforts, proposal submission, and post-award management to assure that research projects comply with institutions and sponsor requirements.

Karen Richardson, Communications Manager
Ms. Richardson is communications manager for the institute as well as the Dept. of Urology, a position that includes marketing, public relations and media relations. Her experience ranges from editing a weekly paper to working in corporate marketing communications. She is a graduate of the UNC School of Journalism. 

Joan Schanck, MPA, Academic Research Program Officer
Ms. Schanck's work is focused on providing high- quality educational programming within the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine science as well as to increase awareness of WFIRM’s leadership role within this promising field of biomedicine. MORE ...  

Kari C. Tetrault, MPA, Grants Administrator 
Ms. Tetrault's main responsibilities include facilitating the acquisition of extramural funding for WFIRM investigators in the preparation and submission of proposals. She will coordinate pre-award efforts, proposal submission, and post-award management. She brings with her five years of experience in grants and contract administration. Previously she worked in the Office of Research at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and most recently worked at the Reynolda House Museum of American Art where she was a grants and stewardship manager.

William Wesley, Financial Analyst
Mr. Wesley came to Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine in August 2009. Prior to that, he spent 25 years in Vermont as Director of Finance for Southern Vermont College and Director of Finance for Bromley Mountain Ski Resort. He is responsible for WFIRM's budgeting and financial reporting.

Ben Young, Education Coordinator
Mr. Young develops content and curriculum to expand educational outreach in regenerative medicine at all age levels. He holds a degree in biology from Davidson College and has five years of experience working as a high school science teacher in western North Carolina.
