Core Teaching Faculty

Students at Wake Forest School of Medicine (WFSM) are taught by more than 1,000 full-time faculty members in the basic and clinical sciences and more than 550 part-time teachers, most of whom are private practitioners of medicine or surgery. The small class size of 120 students encourages free communication with classmates and faculty.

The Core Teaching Faculty (CTF) was established to meet the educational goals of the WFSM strategic plan, which is to increase the capacity to accomplish the curriculum objectives, and to create a framework for advancing and rewarding the scholarship of teaching. There are currently 32 members from 15 departments throughout the medical school.

The CTF is committed to supporting an environment that enhances the educational experiences of students, fosters curricular innovation, and promotes and rewards educational contributions and scholarships.
