  • 14 weeks – 40 hours per week
  • Daily schedules
  • Complete patient evaluations, develop treatment goals
  • Document daily group participation and weekly progress notes
  • Active participation in Treatment Team Meetings
  • Weekly Productivity sheets
  • Weekly written reports summarizing articles that are unit specific – (6-7 total)
  • 2 special projects – 1 patient related per unit and 1 department specific
  • Bi-weekly meetings with Recreation Therapy Internship Supervisor
  • Active participation in weekly outings
  • Assume leadership role as primary therapist in planning and leading groups
  • Monthly Reports of Productivity
  • 1 Case Study
  • Required Oral Presentation
  • Observations with other Recreation Therapy Units and Psychiatry Unit Team Members
  • 2 video taped assessments
  • CPR certification required and maintained throughout internship
  • Required Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification – obtained during internship
  • Meet university requirements
  • Mid-term evaluation
  • Final evaluation
  • Complete internship evaluation
