Admissions
Applicants to the Molecular Medicine and Translational Science (MMTS) PhD Program should apply to the Wake Forest University Graduate School, which uses the EMT ApplyYourself Application Network. For MMTS, applicants should select the PhD Track 4 - Molecular and Cellular Biosciences (MCB) program option on the online application. Once the MCB option is chosen, applicants may further choose to indicate the MMTS program preference during the online application process.
Matriculates will study an integrated first year curriculum and have the flexibility to choose 3 laboratory rotations from MMTS and 5 other participating PhD Programs. A final choice for the Molecular Medicine and Translational Science program of study will be made by the end of the first year, leading to specific elective courses and laboratory research during subsequent years.
Complete applications include:
- Personal statement outlining area(s) of interest and describing your research experience
- Resume or CV
- Official transcript(s) from all institutions attended
- GRE (and TOEFL report for international students)
- 3 letters of recommendation
MCB and MMTS strongly encourage students to complete their applications by December 15th, application reviews will begin in December. The final Graduate School deadline is January 15th, and applications will be accepted until this date. Review will not begin until all supplemental materials arrive.

Once you begin the online application process, you will be asked to create a unique username and password which will allow you to save your entries and return at a later time. After you select the MCB Program, you will be given instructions specific to that program. The application will not be successfully submitted unless all required fields are completed. Review of your application by the program will not begin until all supplemental materials arrive, however for your convenience, supplemental documents such as your personal statement and unofficial transcripts may be attached to the on-line application in order to facilitate the review process. Final decisions will require receipt of all official documents. Interviews for successful applicants will be scheduled for January and Februrary of 2013.
