Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist's section on Urology is a major referral center that brings together the best of patient- and family-centered care and research, offering understanding, expertise and the latest in diagnostic techniques and treatments for kidney stones, urologic cancer, incontinence, pelvic pain, congenital abnormalities and men’s health issues.
Our urologists perform minimally invasive surgical procedures, including robot-assisted laparoscopic procedures for both adults and children. We also have a team that specializes in women’s pelvic health issues, ranging from incontinence and sexual dysfunction to pelvic pain and prolapse.
Wake Forest Baptist urologists are experienced in caring for the most complicated and difficult cases. In many areas, the department’s urologists have helped set national standards for care. Because faculty members are active researchers as well as clinicians, the department is able to offer patients new treatments and technology before they are widely available.
About Your Visit
Urology visits are by appointment only. We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment. If you are 15 minutes late, we may have to reschedule your appointment.
Your first visit will include a thorough assessment appropriate to your particular situation. It will be helpful if you can bring copies of recent x-rays, laboratory tests and other relevant medical records to this initial meeting.
When you return for a follow-up, you will be scheduled to see the same physician. If your doctor is unavailable for urgent problems, other doctors in our practice have access to your medical records and can provide care as needed.
You may be scheduled for a test during your appointment and a follow-up visit with the doctor on the same day. This may entail a wait between the two appointments.
