Tanglewood Heart & Stroke Walk

Wake Forest Baptist Health is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the 2011 Tanglewood Heart and Stroke Walk  held on Oct. 15 at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC. You are invited to participate by supporting one of our Wake Forest Baptist teams. 

Team members were entered in a drawing for a chance to win the "Cloverdale Ace Ultimate Tailgate package".  The package included a tailgate canopy and chairs with the team logo of the winners choice, donated by Cloverdale Ace Hardware, a $100 Lowes Foods gift card, donated by Lowes Foods, and 4 tickets to the Wake Forest University vs. Vanderbilt game.  Along with the tickets, the winner will receive VIP parking access, and a guided BB&T Field sideline tour before the game.

The American Heart Association's annual Heart and Stroke Walk raises millions of dollars for cardiovascular disease research and education across the country.  Heart disease is this country's No.1 killer. But by exercising for as little as 30 minutes each day you can reduce your risk.

Companies can help employees reduce that risk by becoming a Start! Fit Friendly company.  The Start! Fit Friendly program offers tools that encourage businesses to implement programs for improved physical activity and good nutrition such as campus-wide walking routes, healthier choices in company cafeterias and vending machines and health screenings.  Last year, the American Heart Association (AHA) designated Wake Forest Baptist a Platinum-Level Start! Fit Friendly company for implementing programs to encourage physical activity and good nutrition.
