The American Heart Association's annual Heart and Stroke Walk raises millions of dollars for cardiovascular disease research and education across the country. Heart disease is this country's No.1 killer. But by exercising for as little as 30 minutes each day you can reduce your risk.
Companies can help employees reduce that risk by becoming a Fit Friendly company. The Fit Friendly program offers tools that encourage businesses to implement programs for improved physical activity and good nutrition such as campus-wide walking routes, healthier choices in company cafeterias and vending machines and health screenings. Last year, the American Heart Association (AHA) designated Wake Forest Baptist a Platinum-Level Fit Friendly company for implementing programs to encourage physical activity and good nutrition.
