Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

All surgical patients at Wake Forest Baptist Medical receive post-anesthesia care either in the outpatient holding/recovery area or in the PACU. Either way you will be tended by specially trained nursing staff and a board certified anesthesiologist until you are able to be discharged or moved to a hospital room.

Your vital signs will be closely monitored.

You will receive additional medication as necessary for pain control, nausea, and/or vomiting.
