National Cancer Survivors Day Scheduled for June 24

The 12th annual National Cancer Survivors Day will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem on Saturday, June 24th from 11:30am - 2:00pm.

More than 500 people, including over 300 cancer survivors, are expected to attend the annual "Celebration of Life" for cancer survivors and their families. Activities include lunch and entertainment, an inspirational speaker, children''s activities and a survivor''s project.

"It''s uplifting," said cancer survivor Peggy Herrera. "These events give me insight into other people''s experiences with cancer, and it''s encouraging to see other survivors who have lived for years after being diagnosed."

The event is a collaborative effort of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Novant Health/Forsyth Medical Center, and Cancer Services, Inc.
