I recorded this track during the weekend before my fourth year of medical school. While it is not a concrete representation of a specific thought or idea, I think that the tone reflects some of the things that were running through my head at the time. After finishing my third year on Friday, I sat down to play the piano on Saturday morning and was concurrently reflecting on some of my memories from the past year. While there are certainly patients that I cared for that I will never forget, I think I underestimated the sense of camaraderie that would form between the students in my rotation group. While I am sad to see our time together pass, I am also excited about continuing to form these types of bonds with colleagues throughout my medical career. I think that my mental state of slightly melancholic reflection combined with the anticipation of new experiences is represented in the texture of this track.
Thanks to my rotation group, Group B. (For those of you without perfect pitch, the song starts on a B-major chord.)
