At Wake Forest School of Medicine, we pride ourselves on our values, and our school’s long commitment to inclusion and diversity exemplifies those values. In everything we do—recruiting, training, educating—we encourage and foster a welcoming and stimulating environment.

Our Office of Student Inclusion and Diversity (SID) focuses on supporting the educational mission of the medical school and its goal of excellence. The office is led by Dr. Brenda Latham-Sadler, our Associate Dean for Student Inclusion and Diversity. She works with staff in the recruitment and retention of students from diverse backgrounds, and helps to create a learning environment that is culturally sensitive and supportive of all.

In today’s world, health care is evolving more rapidly than ever. These changes are led by remarkable advances in biomedical research, a hallmark of our institution that provides unique learning opportunities for our students. Given this environment and the growing diversity of our society, it is more crucial than ever that our education program reaches out to all. As we train the next generation of medical leaders, we will remain faithful to our core values of inclusiveness and diversity.
