Emerging Leaders Program
Mission of the Emerging Leaders Program:
The Emerging Leaders Program seeks to create a future generation of leaders for the PA profession. Its mission is to produce highly capable, entrepreneurial physician assistants equipped with the business competencies to succeed in a complex health care environment. Graduates will be character-driven leaders who are prepared to transform the delivery of health care, promote its responsible use and provide compassionate, high-quality patient care while continually advancing the PA profession.

The Emerging Leaders Program consists of two separate sequential degree programs focused in either business or law. Students must select if they would like to pursue the Emerging Leaders Program- Business or the Emerging Leaders Program- Law.
Emerging Leaders Program- Business:
The Emerging Leaders Program- Business is a 34-month sequential degree program in which students first earn a Master of Arts (MA) in Management from the Wake Forest University School of Business (10 months) and then earn a Master of Medical Science (MMS) in Physician Assistant Studies from the Wake Forest School of Medicine (24 months). The Wake Forest School of Business and School of Medicine PA Program share a history of curricular innovation, with a focus on problem-solving, hands-on learning and leadership development
Emerging Leaders Program- Law:
The Emerging Leaders Program- Law is a unique 36-month sequential degree program in which students earn their Master of Studies in Law (MSL) from the Wake Forest University School of Law (12 months) and their Master of Medical Science (MMS) in Physician Assistant Studies from the Wake Forest School of Medicine (24 months). This new cross-disciplinary initiative will develop physician assistant leaders who are prepared to navigate a complex legal marketplace.
Candidates who wish to be considered for admission to the Emerging Leaders Program- Law or Emerging Leaders Program- Business should complete the Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) application and indicate their interest on the supplemental portion of the application. Those who have expressed interest and have also met the admission criteria for the PA Program will be invited to interview for the Emerging Leaders Program.
Candidates considered for admission to the Emerging Leaders Program may be considered for scholarships. Scholarship offerings are merit based.
