PA 2016 student appointed to 2015-2016 DEAC clinic leadership team
Congratulations to first-year PA student Ben Gogg, who was
voted one of eight floor managers at the DEAC (Delivering Equal Access to Care)
clinic. Ben showed his commitment to DEAC clinic patients by volunteering his
time twice monthly throughout his didactic year. As he developed relationships
with the providers, patients, and leadership, many took note of his hard work
and service and he was elected to the leadership team.
Ben is excited to take on more responsibility this year. He
went from working in any area needed – from check-in to triage, health and
wellness, or med team – to now managing all areas. “One thing I really like to
do is make sure patients get connected to the resources they need to get the
medical care they deserve. I want their time in clinic to go well, from the
check-in all the way to discharge, and I want to help that process go smoothly
however I can,” said Gogg.
Ben is the only Wake Forest PA student on the leadership
team this year, and he will undoubtedly represent the program well. [written by Jana Villanueva, Class of 2016]
