WFBH CIM Pilot Funding: RFP's mission is to become a national leader promoting holistic, integrative health care through outstanding education, research, clinical care, and empowerment of individuals and communities.  This RFP is for WFBH investigator-initiated human studies in integrative medicine including botanical and natural products, vitamins and dietary supplements, mind/body therapies, acupuncture, massage, healing touch, energy medicine, and/or healthy lifestyle promotion.

CIM Post-Doc Research Position Wake Forest Baptist Health Center for Integrative Medicine has funding for a one year post-doctoral research position. The post-doctoral Fellow's work will focus on the priority areas of Biofield healing (Therapeutic Touch, Healing Touch, medical QiGong, or related therapies) or interpersonal effects of compassion/ lovingkindness meditation. We are open to consider applicants from a range of backgrounds. Skills in clinical research, physics, physiology, psychology, and translational science are of particular interest.

Coach Training Events and Schedules's world requires people to be flexible and collaborative. Coach Training helps professionals learn deep listening and conversation skills.


The Wake Forest University School of Divinity, and The Center for Congregational Health, Inc. invite you to participate in the Coach Training pilot project sponsored in conjunction with CareNet, Inc. and The Pastoral Institute, Inc.

Celebrating Community Through Gardens to a celebration of community and the role that gardening and healthy living plays in bringing people together.   Learn about community gardening in Forsyth County through hands on activities, educational demonstrations, and displays for garden enthusiast and the health
and community minded citizens.

Stress and Relaxation Techniques Clinical Digest is a service of the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine at NIH.  It offers evidence-based information on CAM, including scientific literature searches, NCCAM-funded research, fact sheets for patients, and more.  Recent articles include:

Natural Standard Standard Professional Database is a clinical resource that addresses growing patient interest and high utilization rates of CAM.  The database was founded by healthcare providers and researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. The collaborative has grown to include contributors from hundreds of eminent academic institutions.  

All content adheres to a rigorous research methodology, a validated reproducible rating system based on the US Preventative Services Task Force, and goes through a blinded multidisciplinary peer review process to help assure accuracy of the consolidated evidence.  Recent articles include:
  Take Vitamin D
with Food is not uncommon for a person being treated for vitamin D deficiency to fail to achieve adequate serum levels. A small but striking study at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Bone Clinic suggests that one reason may be that such people are taking vitamin D supplements on an empty stomach or with a small meal, usually breakfast or lunch.  In the study, 17 such people were instructed, to take the same supplement with the largest meal of the day. After 2 to 3 months, serum vitamin D levels had increased 57%.  Based on this study, it may be best to take vitamin D with your largest meal of the day.                Excerpt from
