Fourth Year Medical Student High Risk Obstetrics Clerkship
The Maternal Fetal Medicine Division of the
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offers a Fourth Year Medical School
elective with the objective to expose the student to the breadth of maternal
and fetal complications of pregnancy. There will be both inpatient and
outpatient experiences. The student will be part of the High Risk Inpatient Team.
As a member of the team, the high risk chief will assign patients to the
student to admit, make morning rounds and to present at rounds. In addition
there will be outpatient opportunities in the High Risk consultation clinic,
genetic counselor clinic and ultrasound. The Maternal Fetal Fellow will aid the
student to prepare a 30 minute lecture to present at the end of the rotation.
