Learning Experiences

Our flexible residency program allows residents to tailor their experiences to meet their individual career goals. The residency year is divided into 12 rotations, most of which are one month long. Residents are also evaluated longitudinally on project, presentations, research, and practice experience (staffing).

Additional highlights include:

  • Members of the pharmacy staff participate in daily patient care rounds, therapeutic drug monitoring, medication reconciliation, patient education, providing drug information, and in-service education
  • Flexibility allows each resident to tailor experiences to meet his/her individual interests and career goals
  • Four week rotations can be made into blocks of 2 – 4 weeks.
  • In July, the resident will spend time learning order verification and distribution system for chemotherapy patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
