If I opt-in to receive text messages, when will I begin receiving appointment reminders?

If your correct cell phone number is listed in the cell phone field in your health information, you will begin receiving text reminders for any appointments scheduled more than 3 days after from the day you signed up.

Example: If you signed up today to receive text messaging and you have an appointment tomorrow, you will not receive a text message reminder. If your appointment is 4 days out, you will receive one.

If your cell phone number is incorrect or is not in the cell phone field of your medical record, you will continue to receive phone call reminders until your cell phone number is updated at your next appointment. The registration staff at your clinic can update this for you.

Do I receive text reminders for all appointments, including procedures or therapy?

Currently, all outpatient clinics and ancillary services that provide procedural appointments offer automated appointment reminders for both text messaging and phone reminders. Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy provide appointment reminders 1 day before appointments.

If I opt-in for text messages, will I also continue to receive phone call reminders?

No. You can choose to receive appointment reminders via text or phone, You will not receive both.

How do I opt-out of receiving text messages?

You may opt-out of text messages 1 of 2 ways: 

  • At any time, you may text the word STOP to 85931.
  • At your next appointment, you may ask your clinic registration staff to opt you out.
