Wake Forest Baptist Health Diagnostic Laboratories are committed to rapid Turnaround Time (TAT). We define TAT as the time it takes for a specimen to be tested once we receive it. Because our advanced diagnostic lab is centrally located in the Carolinas and operates 24/7/365, specimens arrive earlier and test results are reported out sooner, most within the same day of collection. We are continually evaluating our policies and procedures to ensure we avoid unnecessary delays without compromising testing quality.
Time-Sensitive Specimens
Please contact us before sending a time-sensitive specimen for testing. Please have the following information available when you call:
- Facility name
- Account number
- Patient name
- Shipping information (i.e., courier service, FedEx®, etc.)
- Date specimen to be sent
- Test ordered
