Biography

“I enjoy taking care of a diverse group of patients across all age groups. I especially love helping cancer patients live their best and most active lives. I also find immense job satisfaction in teaching the next generation of doctors and empowering them to be the most capable and compassionate physicians they can be.”

Dr. Sheila Conway is board certified in orthopaedic surgery with a focus on orthopaedic oncology (cancer) in pediatric and adult patients. Conditions she treats include benign and malignant tumors of bones and soft tissues, as well as metastatic cancers (cancers that have spread) to bones.

Dr. Conway is a professor of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where she also serves as the vice chair of faculty development and section chief of the orthopaedic oncology division.

She is a Fellow of The American Orthopaedic Association.

Dr. Conway received her medical degree at Temple University. She completed residency in orthopaedic surgery at Monmouth Medical Center and a musculoskeletal oncology fellowship at the University of Miami.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, gardening and swimming at the beach with the best dog in the world, Morrissey. Dr. Conway also loves travel, yoga, scuba diving, boating and all things water-related.
