Biography
I chose a career in medicine during my time at Wake Forest University, where I worked as an EMT. I saw firsthand how science could help people during some of their most difficult moments. Over time, I realized I wanted to do more than respond to emergencies. I wanted to walk alongside people living with chronic illnesses, which often lead to serious, acute health problems and help support them through those challenges.
I am driven each day by the goal of becoming a better friend, coworker and physician to those around me, and I want to bring that same care and attention to my patients. My approach to care is simple. I want every patient to feel seen and heard. I believe in open, honest conversations and making sure you have the information you need so we can make decisions together about your health.
I’m especially interested in delivering high-quality, cost-effective care, helping ensure patients receive the right treatments without unnecessary burdens.
I specialize in hematology and oncology and am trained to care for a wide range of conditions. My clinical interests include:
- Solid tumors, such as lung and prostate cancer
- Blood cancers such as lymphoma, leukemia and myeloma
- Bleeding and clotting disorders
Some highlights of my career include presenting research and quality improvement work at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) conferences. I’ve also published original research on pancreatic cancer.
I’m excited to help expand access to clinical trials as a clinical trial site lead in Greensboro, offering patients additional treatment options when appropriate.
Building connections is important to me, both personally and professionally.
Before moving to Greensboro, I served as president of the Mecklenburg County Medical Society, where I worked with others to support underserved communities in Charlotte and bring physicians together to address important health care issues. I look forward to continuing that work.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors, especially rock climbing, weightlifting, playing pickleball or hiking. I also enjoy reading and watching science fiction.
