Lisa Marshall was named Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer in March 2017. She had previously served the Medical Center as Associate Vice President, Philanthropy. Marshall oversees the strategic effort to engage donors and alumni and raise philanthropic support for the clinical, educational and research components of the mission.
Marshall was recruited to Wake Forest Baptist in 2011 from Case Western Reserve University where she was Associate Vice President for Strategic Gifts and Foundation Relations and Vice Dean for Development, Communications and Administration.
A graduate of Michigan State University with a BS in Economics, Marshall began her career in the banking industry. Her experience leading teams and managing client relationships served her well as she transitioned to the field of philanthropy.
Outside of work, Marshall is committed to organizations impacting the community. She serves on the board of directors of Allegacy Federal Credit Union and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.
Marshall and her husband, Jim, have three adult children: Andy, who lives and works in Winston-Salem; Nate, who is a PhD candidate in Ohio; and Rebecca, who is a student at Appalachian State University.
