Community Financial Support

This chart shows how Wake Forest Baptist Health directed resources to the benefit of the community in the 2020 fiscal year totaling 596.2 million. This includes community benefits provided throughout the Wake Forest Baptist Health system and is $15.4 million more than last year, which was a record high. This support includes: 

  • Charity care
  • Community health improvement and outreach programs
  • Education and training of medical and health professions and clinical research
  • Subsidized health services at our Downtown Health Plaza, Bethesda and Southside health clinics in Winston-Salem 
  • Unreimbursed costs of government-funded programs, primarily Medicare and Medicaid
