At Wake Forest Baptist Health Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, a service of NC Baptist Hospital, our physicians and staff are committed to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the endocrine system.
Our facility features a multidisciplinary staff of diabetes experts and offers the full range of diabetes services.
Our team is devoted to helping patients manage diabetes and prevent the complications that often occur as a result of the disease.
In order to achieve good management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, a host of factors must come together - insulin and oral medication, nutrition, exercise, weight loss, behavioral counseling, glucose monitoring, insulin pumps, care of the eyes, kidneys, and cardiovascular system - all done within an educational context to give patients effective tools to self-manage their diabetes. Wake Forest Baptist integrates all diabetes specialities into a team model of care.
Our specialists provide you with the best treatment plans and enable you to be seen by an endocrinologist, an eye care provider, a podiatrist, and a diabetes educator.
At the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, our expertly trained diabetes educators provide patient education in individual sessions or through various classes. Because diabetes is with you 24/7, knowing what to do to keep it in control is one of the pillars of care. Our diabetes educators give you the practical tools and knowledge you need to fit diabetes into your life.
Diabetes and Endocrinology Center Appointments
Patients who would like to be seen in our clinic will need their primary care physician to request a consultation. Please have your physician's office call 336-713-7251 to request an appointment, as faxed referrals are not accepted. We will ask your physician's office to send your records for our review prior to your appointment.
Your first visit will entail a consultation appointment with a board certified endocrinology physician or advanced practice provider and a diabetes education visit with a certified diabetes educator.
