Video visits are just like regular clinic visits, but instead of physically coming to the clinic to meet with a provider, you meet with them using a mobile device or computer.
You and your provider are able to see and hear each other, just as if you were sitting in the same room together. Having a video visit does not require any special equipment and for many patients, video visits are available at no additional cost.
Many private insurance companies, along with Medicare and Medicaid, are now covering video visits. If you have questions about coverage, please contact your insurance carrier directly.
During this time, patients are able to have video visits with their providers using one of several different platforms, including myWakeHealth. Other possible platforms include WebEx, Zoom, FaceTime, and more. When you call to schedule your video visit, the healthcare team will provide you with instructions on which platform to use and how to log into your video visit.
If you are a new patient and would like to schedule a video visit, call 336-716-WAKE for non-urgent concerns. If you are an existing patient, contact your Wake Forest Baptist Health provider to schedule a video visit.
