At Wake Forest Baptist Health, our OB/GYN providers offer individualized state-of-the-art care for women, from adolescence to menopause. As leaders in our field, we offer a wide range of general and specialty care that covers the entire spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology.
As an integral part of the Comprehensive Cancer Center, our gynecologic oncologists provide comprehensive care for patients with pre-malignant and malignant diseases of the female reproductive tract. This includes surgical management many times using minimally invasive robotic techniques, chemotherapy and radiation therapy in conjunction with colleagues in radiation oncology. Clinical trials are available for gynecologic malignancies including intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. In addition, gynecologic oncologists provide expertise in complicated non-cancerous gynecologic surgical procedures.
Our exceptional team of high-risk pregnancy providers includes maternal fetal medicine, genetic counselors, and high-risk obstetric sonographers. Our goal is to provide the highest level of individualized care for mothers and babies when a genetic condition or a medical, obstetrical, or surgical complication is identified before, during or after pregnancy.
Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS)
Our gynecologic surgeons offer advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery for complex benign gynecologic conditions. These alternatives allow for less pain, smaller incisions, easier recovery, and a quicker return to normal activities. They also provide surgical, interventional, and medical management of complex endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain conditions.
Our general obstetrics and gynecology specialists provide care for women, including pregnancy, gynecologic problems and reproductive health. As leaders in our field, our comprehensive, long-term OB/GYN care aims to prevent gynecological issues from occurring, helping treat them when they do, and being able to help patients transition through all phases of womanhood.
Our reproductive endocrinologists at the Center for Fertility, Endocrine and Menopause are experts in all facets of in vitro fertilization and fertility care. Our onsite Ph.D. embryologist is noted for his outstanding work in areas such as pre implantation genetic testing (PGT) and sperm injection techniques (ICSI). At our new state of the art center, we care for all aspects of the infertile couple, including onsite specialists in male fertility, reproductive counseling, and genetics.
Our specialists in urological gynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery primarily focus on the diagnosis and treatment of female disorders affecting bladder and bowel health, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, and fistula (improper communication between different pelvic organs).
