Video visits are just like regular clinic visits, but instead of physically coming to the clinic to meet with a provider, you meet with them using a mobile device or computer.
You and your provider are able to see and hear each other, just as if you were sitting in the same room together. Having a video visit does not require any special equipment and for many patients, video visits are available at no additional cost.
Many private insurance companies, along with Medicare and Medicaid, are now covering video visits. If you have questions about coverage, please contact your insurance carrier directly.
During this time, patients are able to have video visits with their providers using one of several different platforms, including myWakeHealth. Other possible platforms include WebEx, Zoom and more. When you call to schedule your video visit, the healthcare team will provide you with instructions on which platform to use and how to log into your video visit.
Apple Users: The video visit issue with Apple iOS 15.1 has been resolved. Please be sure to install the Apple iOS 15.2 or later update on your device/s to participate in video visits with your Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist providers. If you experience any problems or errors while attempting to update, please refer to these troubleshooting steps.
If you are a new patient and would like to schedule a video visit, call 336-716-WAKE for non-urgent concerns. If you are an existing patient, contact your Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist provider to schedule a video visit.
