Within Atrium Health, we use survey results to better understand what is important to our patients and how we can improve healthcare experiences. The overall Patient Rating score comes from the questions on our Medallia Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a scale, where 0 represents "very poor" and 10 represents "very good.” Those scores are shown as 1 to 5 stars on the provider’s profile.

- December 16, 2022 Dr. Steven Clayton is not only one of the best physicians in his area of medicine, but he is a great guy. He is so friendly, not stiff or all business. When you talk with him, he listens and you feel like you have known him for years. He is a very person. I would want him taking care of anyone in my family.
- December 9, 2022 I felt that he did not go back and review my past tests and info before he talked with me. I feel he sometimes does not listen or really care what is going on with me or to talk with me about what can be done in the future for my problem. Trying to reach him to let him know what is happening with me is impossible. What phone # do I use just to reach his nurse to leave a message. He will not talk with my Doctors here in Virginia. He says that the two systems Carilion Health and his do not talk. I ask just to call and it never happens. I know he is good and that is why I was sent to him talking with my Drs. here instead of asking me to is not good. I am not a Dr. even tho I worked in the medical field but they are not above us!!

- October 20, 2022 He??s grown on me. I like him more and more each time I see him.
- October 7, 2022 First, trainee came in and I explained everything to him. When doctor came in, he did not have the correct information about my condition. He thought I came in for a cough, when in fact it was for acid reflux. It was a bad starting off point from there. I was trying to explain why I was there, but he didn't seem to listen or explain how those symptoms were not connected to acid reflux. I had seen his PA for a year, treating me for acid reflux and was on medicine and had a couple of tests. Either he didn't read her notes or she didn't consult with him on my diagnosis, because according to the doctor my condition wasn't that bad and not a problem that he could treat.
