Biography

“I do my job because it is the greatest and most rewarding job I can imagine. I have the privilege to care for patients and help improve their quality of life.”

Dr. Dekarlos Dial is board certified in podiatry. He focuses on orthopaedics for foot and ankle conditions.

As a student, he shadowed a podiatrist in his home state of Alabama. The experience showed Dr. Dial the power of mentorship and motivated him to choose podiatry as his specialty.

He is an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he also serves as the podiatry section chair and the director of the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program.

He has been the recipient of an Edwin B. Martin Podiatrist of the Year Award. His research interests include Achilles tendonitis treatment and plantar fasciitis treatment.

Dr. Dial received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) at Kent State University. He completed residency in podiatric surgery and a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.

Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He credits them for giving him the motivation to maintain a consistent and loving spirit.
