Biography
I knew I wanted a career in health care after watching my grandfather recover from a hip fracture. During his rehab, I observed his physical therapist and saw how much difference the right care and encouragement could make. That experience sparked my interest in physical therapy and helped me realize this was the right path for me.
Today, I am motivated by helping people feel better, move better and return to the activities they enjoy. I want my patients and their families to know that I give my best effort at every visit, and I am fully on their side throughout the recovery process.
My approach to care is centered on each patient as a whole person. I create personalized treatment plans based on your concerns, movement and goals. Open communication is a big part of how I work. I want you to feel heard, understood and confident in your plan of care. I regularly check in to make sure your questions are answered and that we are addressing what matters most to you.
When you schedule an appointment with me, you can expect a focused visit where I do everything I can to help you reach your goals and give you tools to stay strong and independent.
I have training and experience in several specialized areas of physical therapy. I am certified in dry needling and trained in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), Part A. I’m also certified in functional movement assessments, which helps me identify movement problems that may contribute to pain or limits in daily life.
I have a special interest in treating jaw pain and dysfunction and headaches that start in the neck.
One of the highlights of my career was being named a High Point University Clinical Instructor of the Year. I also lead a monthly headache journal club, helping colleagues stay current on research and best practices. In addition, I have served as head author on multiple N.C. American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) poster presentations focused on diagnosing and treating complex conditions.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing guitar and playing soccer. My wife and I have three sons who keep us busy and active. I’m also involved in my church community.
